The Chally Gets It’s First Mod

Is your Challenger soft-spoken? My SRT8 has been quite the mean-looking kid on the block but when it came to announcing his presence while tearing down the street he’s been rather …soft spoken. Luckily, it’s nothing a good cat-back exhaust system can’t fix, while improving performance and adding a few extra horses in the process.

I swapped out the stock exhaust for a Mopar Cat-back system (part #5155151 in case you’re wondering). It’s made of stainless steel tubing for longer life and it’s a bolt-on installation so it was relatively easy to do myself.

Be sure you have everything you need and that the new exhaust kit tubing looks good before you get started. There’s nothing worse than having to stop midway through the process and reassemble the old one again just so you can drive to a store or make it home.

The only hiccup I experienced is that my driver’s side muffler tubing didn’t quite fit over the axle pipe so I had to widen it a bit. After a few days of driving around I found it much easier to finalize the alignment and give all the bolts a final twist.
